I have a .156 ID hex broach, .090 dp, w/6-32 thread below to .200 deep.
Broach tool says it need all .200 dp for excess material to go. If I drill for tap first,
then drill (.158) to .090 for hex broach, then broach, then redrill .106 tap drill, then
tap. Will this work. Anyone have sim. problem. (Nakamura-Tome TMC-15/Fanuc O-T)

Singlepoint a 6-32? Waste of time. Tap drill for the #6, bore the hole for the broach, broach it, then tap it. Done.

X2 Can you even buy a threading bar small enough to single point a 6-32 thread?

Of course it is understood you will have to go back in after broaching to remove chips.

Spot then drill for the broach, broach it. Then go back in with your broach drill and clear the chips out of the bottom. now tap drill and tap below the hex. Done.

Problem with this method is that there is no place for the chips formed by the broach to go.
