Hi, need some help here.
On a cnc lathe, i need to clamp some hex parts, in order to machine some nuts.
I have a 3 jaw hydraulic chuck, no hard jaws, just soft jaws. Any ideas on how can i clamp the hex material, with a part stop on the jaws? Thank you all.

My trick for holding hex in soft jaws was to put my jaws on with the points
facing OUT, and then turn the points down. If you need a stop, just turn
them back a little bit.

Then flip the jaws around and put the point to
the center. Gives you a nice 3 point contact on the flats.

If you get the jaws so they won't open more than the distance
across the points, you can even barfeed hex with jaws like that.
No strange liners needed to keep alignment.
