While waiting for my machine (ST-30Y) I went ahead and ordered in a bunch of soft jaws for a Kitagawa chuck.
That's the chuck I've seen on various pictures, not mentioned by make in documentation.
Asked my local salesrep for a confirmation of make & model and he said that Haas randomly pick one out of three or four different makes, depending on what they have in stock at the time.
You must me shitting me I thought, so I called Haas in Oxnard to get it straight from the horses mouth.
Turns out it's true.
Really strange thing to do I think. Is this common knowledge amongst seasoned CNC machinists? Why not stock up???
