I have a run of large cylindrical parts to machine on our DMU75 with TNC640 and they require serial numbers to be engraved on the outside diameter. Is it possible to use Cycle 27 (or something else) along with the engraving cycle 225 to wrap the text around the cylinder?
I could do this in CAM but each part has to be engraved with the date of manufacture along with a serial number that resets each new day which would require me to basically make an entirely new engraving program for each part. I already have a macro written for another family of parts from the same customer that does this automatically but on a flat surface.
Any ideas?
