Hello, Looking to retrofit our Fibermak Raptor laser with an air line. Currently using Nitrogen BulkPacks and oxygen. Just curious if anyone is familiar with what air pressure we should use. The stock setting on the machine for air with a 3mm alum cut is 10 Bar 145PSI. If you know that this will be enough or too much please let me know. any other cut condition would be appreciated too.
( Power, Height, FeedRate, and Bar) Etc. Someone is coming into the shop to work on our air compressors and we will be speaking to them about the retro fit, so as much information as possible to pass along to them would be greatly appreciated.
We Currently cut aluminum using Nitrogen but the machine recommends using air. as the Nitrogen leaves a little more slag on the bottom of the cut.

Look at Liberty Air Systems. They specialize in fiber laser gas delivery. Liberty Systems Nitrogen Generator

You need high pressure, extremely clean and dry air. There is zero room for shortcuts, because head contamination can cost north of $50K...

As far as pressure, I'm surprised Ermaksan didn't give you recommendations. Most laser companies have that all programmed into the control for different materials, thicknesses, etc. Cincinnati machines, for example, will automatically purge the previous gas, clean and swap nozzles, and adjust the optimum pressure with no human assistance.

The laser had recommendations, but I was just concerned because all the conditions are the same from 0.6mm - 8mm. It recommends 10 bar throughout all the thickness'. We recently had new air tank and dryer installed along with brand new lines to our machine. Thanks for the advice!
