Fanuc 10T odd behavior in Edit mode

Hello all,

I was scrolling through some old programs on the control and and came across this odd behavior while in Edit mode. Every time I move the cursor to line N90 the hydraulic pump powers down. The control, while still displaying the program will not respond to any commands in any mode.

If I power down the control and then power it back up everything works as it should until I scroll down to line N90.

Anyone have an idea what may cause the machine to act like this while in Edit mode?

Machine is 1984 Ikegai VT1100 with Fanuc 10T

I haven't the slightest clue but does it only happen in that program or at N90 in any program?

If it's just that program, I would punch it out, delete and retype that and surrounding blocks and reload it to the machine......

If it is N90 in every program, what happens if you delete N90 from that block?

Only happens at N90 in that program.

Yes, will have to try the retype and reload to see what happens.

This troubled program came with the machine.

Maybe someone more experienced than me will chime in, but I have seen some really odd stuff happen with old controls that was fixed by reloading programs, parameters exc. Most times I've seen unexplained behavior it ends up being a failing power supply.

A friends Takisawa with a 3T once a week would have all the parameters change to random bits and upon reloading them it would work fine for a while. This went on for months. I replaced the caps on the power supply and it has yet to act up since.
 
I had a problem years ago with a Fanuc 6MB. Turns out that I had typed M76 instead of N76 and the control revered the Y axis. Drove me nuts. So check the code. M instead of N can cause all sorts of grief. And that mirror image code was nowhere to be found in the Fanuc manual.
 
Like Hardplates said,Can you punch it out? I once had a 15MB that had a bad spot in memory. It was somewhere around the half capacity point. If you tried to use that much memory it would give a memory parity alarm. The fix was to re-initialize the memory, but all the parameters had to be reloaded.

That's because it was the machine builder, not Fanuc, that decided to use an M code to turn on the mirror function. Should have been documented in the machine builder's programming or operation manual.
