lathe Puma 8s Fanuc OTC
when battery dead i load parameters and pmc parameters but when turn on machine i have 3 options:
Load PMC:
1 Load from IO
3 RUN
4 Run without pmc

when i press 3 RUN shows no ladder exist any idea how resolve this problem HELP

If you have a Fanuc 0TC control then the PMC ladder is stored on EPROM chips on the MEM board. Two sockets on the upper right corner of the board probably labeled OE1 and OE2. Having a battery go dead should not cause the machine to lose the PMC ladder. Do you have EPROMS at that location?

OK. Thanks for the pictures. The cassette just to the left of the MEM board is curious. Can you post a picture of the full label on it? Also, what board number and label is in the PMC slot on the motherboard? What are the contents of parameter 905?

yes i know first parameters 900 by hand input and others by rs232
i try change 905 parameter also bit by bit and nothing, but is 3 or 4 position bits which no show window PMC load select when turn on ,like if change par 905 to 00000010 is no window pmc load select, but when turn machine On not load PMC and no ladder still
below parameters from similar machine puma 8s 1995 fanuc otc i load this parameters

i dont know i have wrong parameters or not read eproms HMM

Two things.

I don't think you have as much memory installed as these parameters suggest. All your memory slots would have to be full and they're not.

Try changing your 901 to

N0901 P 11100100

or this

N0901 P 11100010

From what I'm gathering, only bits 0 and/or bit 5 are usable for lathe. The rest you tried are for mills.

N0905 P 00000001 (PMC Type L 3000 steps)

N0905 P 00100000 (PMC Type M 5000 steps)

You might want to wait for someone smarter then me to verify before trying.

Hope I haven't broken any rules. :-)

It sure looks like only 2 of the 4 extended memory sockets are populated yet the parameter is set to 320 meters. I am not familiar with the 2201 board which is the top one and what the OP has. On the 1212 board I know all 4 spots need to be populated for 320 meters.

I think if it were me I would try backing the memory down.

I'm also curious what the thing next to the memory card is that Vancbiker mentioned.

Cool pic. Saved it if you don't mind. They're very much the same as they are different.

I have the board like the OP does and yes all slots need filling for max memory. It does look as if some of the slots are filled but am not sure what that would give him memory wise. Also not so sure about the stock nature of the Toshiba chips in there. Meaning is any cross reference a proper one? That is out of my league.

Isn't the yellow box a custom made macro from Fanuc? My plug there is empty.

Checked 8 machines with OTs and none of them have that yellow box. A live tooled c axis machine with an 11T does though.

If I had to guess I would say the max memory the OP can run with that setup is 120 meters. Also he could set it to 20 or 40 meters and see if that helps as that shouldn't require any physical extensions.

In Fanuc speak, PMC-L and PMC-M do not denote Lathe and Mill PMC types. Fanuc L and M are different PMC types that offer different capability and processing speed. PMC-M on a 0 series needs a board plugged into the PMC slot on the motherboard. It appear that there is no board there so I have to think that his machine is using PMC-L.

I was hoping that the Order Made Macro cassette (yellow module next to the MEM board) would have some other info beyond the Fanuc part number on it. Order made Macro is an option that a builder can spec to have Fanuc written custom routine macros on the control. They differ from User macros in that they are not stored in program memory nor can they be edited by a user. Don't recall seeing a lathe so equipped. Have seen mills with Order Made Macro where bolt hole patterns, pocketing, circle milling, etc were implemented.

So it sounds like you do not have the original 900 series parameters for this machine and are loading 900 series parameters from "similar" machines? If this is the case you may be in for some odd results. Have you tried contacting the machine builder for the correct parameter list for your specific machine.

i find in cabinet 2 chips eprom i change memory board i change finding chips and now read ladder, its better i input parameters and diagnostic parameter but machine dont wont start up when i press green button turn on its nothing i check in diagnostic this looks its works this buttom becouse show me changinf bits when press.
when i turn machine on jog mode stock in jog and handle,i cant change for another mode like mdi
when machine is turned on i change on mdi and turn off ,power on then show mdi mode but cant change for another

its was emergency bottom bad we change for new and machine works but not 100% works everything ,now i have problem with turret
i load parameters and diagnostic from puma 8s with 12 tools i have 10 tools turret maybe that why not wont works
please check D443 how to change this
i find something like this check photoIMG-1966.jpg
