Dear Members,
I have a small hydraulic cylinder of 20mm ID bore to be bored on a CNC Turning centre with less than 1.0 Ra.and tolerance of 0.02mm .
I like a suggestion whether to run this job on a TURRET or on a LINEAR TOOLING SETUP. Txs
If the workpiece is rigid and boring bar overhang is over 3xD it is pretty easy on turret lathe. If bar overhang is greater than 3xD, you’ll get increasingly more deflection and need carbide bar and slower speeds.
