Hi all.
I am attempting to pull some 7/16" 303, hex, while I am in M110, to align the hex flats with the flats on my bar puller.

I set C zero after indicating the flats on the hex parallel with x axis.

I commanded a C0 and then G1 (via G94) to feed in X until the hex is gripped.
The machine hangs up/ stops when the bar puller is supposed to G1 Z-.375
I assume this has something to do with M110 engaged while the chuck open, sensor is activated.

What am I missing?

Update: I just thought of a better way to do it.
I will make a 'c' shaped jaw out of a piece of 14g 4130 plate. Attach that to a tool holder (stick/bar) and have the jaw grab a small OD groove just behind the part. It will shorten up the projection length by 1/4" and an OD groove doesn't have flats to align with a traditional puller.

DUH!

For my own edification: how would I solve the original question?
The problem will exist on another part.

Thanks,

Doug.

Are you pulling with a B axis sub? Wouldn't the move be B-xxx.xx

I don't know that machine, just throwing it out there. On our Haas, sometimes I need to add a G04 dwell move before moving/clamping/unclamping main/sub to make sure the spindle is at a full stop...?

I'm away from the shop at the moment, but I can go pull the code this weekend if nobody beats me to the punch
