I'm having an issue with our 2004 VF-3 HS.
If I close the electrical cabinet the tool I/0 readout on the discrete inputs screen will change from 0 to 1, which causes a fault. If I open the cabinet it will change back to 0 and I can run the machine. Ive replaced both prox switches, all the fans, cabinet filter, and now the pcb I/O board. When I shut the door I can watch it switch back and forth between 1 and 0, before eventually staying at 1 causing a fault. I believe that it's heat related. Any help would be appreciated.

sounds more like a faulty wire with a short in it to me. the act of closing the cabinet might move the wire and cause the short. can you measure your temps inside the cabinet? it would be highly unlikely to develop a cooling issue this long after the initial build if you've already ensured the filter is clean and the fans are functional.

That has crossed my mind, but It also happens when it gets really hot out and I remove the fan that we have blowing in to the open cabinet.
