The 4th axis on a older haasVF4 17 pin brushed motor is causing a over temp while it sits idle. It has a magmotor brushed motor and the brushes are good. The head itself doesn't seem to have any bearing issues. The motor does get very hot to the touch. Has anyone else had this problem ? I'm assuming a bad motor but it megs out fine

Thanks

you might check your setting in the controler? I would think the power setting change with what 4th axis you set the control up with and also any servo motor I have had dealing with runs the power up hi to move the axis then reduces the power WAY down when its just parked ,, if your power was still up it would heat up a motor fast ,,

I had a 5c rotary that did something like that, somewhere along the line the motor got knocked hard enough to shift it some, long story short we loosened four 10-32 screws that held the motor to the indexer, let it find its center, retightened it and it's good now.
