We finally got the old GT-27 ready to run but M08 will not work. In MDI it ignores it. In our program if it is there the spindle does not come on but the program still begins to run. The program runs fine without the M08. I don't see any special M codes in the manual What are we missing?

Figured it out. Only one M code per line.

If you are in single block or MDI and trying to execute the M8 command you must press the coolant pushbutton to turn it on after executing the M8 command. If you are running in auto mode in a program and not in single block it will come on as commanded by the program

Hardinge/Fanuc = did you try M13/M14?

M8 should work.
I never use the "0" in the code, but... ???

Apparently a new to you machine.
Is the pump primed?
Are you sure that it spins the right direction?
Are you sure that M8 isn't pulling the contactor in?

Unless maybe they put a Siemens on it?
Tell me that they didn't!
Then you have to tell it that you want the coolant to come on - when the code says to come on. :nutter:
It defaults to "off".
Has cost me several $hundreds in tools and wasted blanks when running alum! :mad5:

which control? if you hit the softkeys it will toggle into another menu that has a coolant shut off parameter, but its not technically a parameter.
