You can find them on ebay, as well as several Yaskawa spindle drives as well.

    Good luck with it.

Does any one know what could be stopping my yaskawa drive from starting?

I recently purchased a Yaskawa 626 vm3 drive and now the spindle wont run.

no alarms no apparent faults and i press cycle start and the program runs fine with the x & z axes working fine. the spindle forward button lights up when you press it but no spindle rotation.

on the digital keypad on the drive the stop light is on all the time, i wonder if the repairer has stopped the unit from working for testing purposes.

    cheers guys.

Did you load the drive operating parameter data? Wired it correctly?

As per machine tool builder manual i loaded the parameter.

The spindle is not running. Installed new Yaskawa drive. The drive always in stop mode. I try to run in jog mode it's working fine but while Spindle command given it's not working. Only forward light ON spindle is not rotating. In Magnetic contactor +24v , CC cable two cable was coming from 3CN connector both the cable was 24v DC output coming. I dismantled the contactor and checked outside it's working fine.

did you check to see if you have your analog input to the drive, and if the scale in your parameters is correct? normally 5 vdc is full speed forward,-5.vdc is full speed reverse. could be your connection is bad or connector is damaged?

Is the replacement drive just like the original? What failed on the original that made you replace it? If it was some kind of catastrophic failure, that could have damaged the CNC I/O for the run signals. What CNC control do you have?

Mildly off topic but anyway ... nice pictures...actually nicely scaled and in focus. :-)

Control card was the problem. We just purchased new drive and try to install.

Is the new drive just like the old? Not real common to use a Yaskawa spindle drive on a machine with Fanuc CNC.
