Using standard cobalt drills works OK only I'd like to increase my feed rate and shave 5 or more seconds off the run time.
Drilling .250" dia. holes in 3/8"thk C110, and can't find a high performance drill.

What size are you looking for? I would probably go with a Guhring solid carbide bright finish 118° drill. If it's a lot of holes per part, then maybe call them and see what they have with coolant through.

Can't really beat Mikron for high performance drilling. Guhring is a contender, too. Dunno what size you need, but Mitsubishi carbide is a safe bet, too. Are you willing to pay for them? In a similar performance vein, but lower priced, MA Ford drills kick some serious metal butt.

Big fan of Guhring 5511's for an all-purpose high performance jobber drill. The Mits equivalent is just as good, but I think a touch more expensive.

However, I'm with sidetalker on this one - for a hole less than 2XD, you can just stab it with a 3 flute. No reason for thru coolant or fancy chip evacuation.
