Location for a presetter

Hi everyone!

We are about to buy a presetter and are wondering if there are standards about its location.

We want to place it near the lathes, since it's their tools we're presetting, but what we really want to know is if it should be in a closed space, like in a room of its own with the holders and the tools, far from the shop's dust and everything, or if it should be placed out in the open in the shop. In that case, does the presetter still work well, or are there imprecisions once in a while?

If you have a prestter, where is it in the shop? What do you suggest?

Thanks!

Ours is in the tool room. The guy working the tool room gathers tools for jobs coming up, assembles them, measures them, then puts them on a cart for the machine to use them.

Thank you for your answer!

I think that's the kind of system we'll go for.

What kind of cart do you use?
