Hello !
As I dont want to be "leach", I share some positive experience.
We made press form from medium-carbon steel and used
1) coated carbide for rough working
2) long HSS endmill for finishing
End mills long, 1 tooth cut over centre, 30deg, type N, Weldon shank | ZPS-FN a.s.
25mm, 5 tooth
250rpm 80mm/min rdoc=1,5mm adoc=40mm
On Robodrill, BT30 machine, flood coolant
And the results were amazing, surface finish was EXCELLENT, almost like polished. Cutting was super-quiet.
