M3/4 not possible

I've got a DMG machining center with a TNC426 controller. Today, in the middle of making a part that we had already made several runs on, our machine went to change tools and, after changing, gave me an error "M3/4 NOT POSSIBLE". I can clear the error but when I tried telling it to restart (either where it left off or starting fresh) it pops back up and the spindle doesn't move. After several attempts to start the program back up, I tried rebooting the controller. It rebooted successfully and went through all of startup just fine, but when I attempted to do a manual M3, it gives the same error message. Hoping someone out there can help me figure this out!

Can you M19?
MDI a tool change?

Way oil level ok?
Air pressure ok?

Never worked on that controller. Are there any alarm codes on any of the drives inside the cabinet?

When the spindle won't start after a tool change:

- Check that the ATC is in home position: door is shut and signal is registering, arm is in home position, etc
- Check the pull stud of the tool in the spindle. Swap out the tool and see what happens.
