We have a customer that wants an internal M8x2.5 thread, but I don’t think this is even possible. Given the major and minor diameters and the size of thread mill that would be needed. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in Advance

the steepness of the thread helix and small minor diameter would mean the thread mill would be of a very small diameter to be able to cut that geometry in that way (if at all possible), a tap would make much more sense

M8x2,5 seems to be rare, 1,25 is standard and 0,75 and 1 are the fine versions, I'd ask the customer to triple check is that is what is really needed
