Default Machining of austinic maganees steel

    Hey guys
I need bore 38mm bore in a job. The material is austinic maganees steel also known as hadfield steel. The material as low machinability and also generates work hardness.
Can you please guide me on machining techniques and also the kind of insert grade needed.
    Thanks and regards.

Make sure the material is "as quenched" and not tempered or annealed. Once upon a time my boss had some annealed to help us out. It was un-machinable. As I remember we used very low speeds and heavy feeds.
