We are looking at purchasing a used Makino V33 in good condition. I would like to hear opinions of people who have experience with this machine. We are injection mould manufacturers.

It's not a bad idea , I think the box /boxed ways on V33i are good to very good for about 15 to 20 years (at least).
On some grinding machines for example - that use hydrostatic ways (if they are maintained correctly) the bearing surfaces should last for many years. I.e. metal to metal contact is minimized.
With your V 33i not sure at what point one has to "Unbuild a machine" and start hand scarping and turcite and all that …
Also wondering about spindle replacement and newer control / mechatronics. Makino possibly being involved in that + $$$$$$ for that ?
@shurid how old V33i are we talking / thinking ?
Ta.
(not 100% sure what would define "Good condition" in a used V33i exactly ?).
