Startihg a new job next month, how hard is it to go from using the Mazak QT 20 to using the Mazak QT 250?

Experience from 10 years ago going to tide me over? :willy_nilly:

You will have no problem. Mazatrol language is essentially unchanged throughout the years--they just keep adding more features to it.

If you can run a 30+ year old T-2, you can learn to run a brand new Smooth control the same day. You can learn the newer features as you go.

I first trained on a T2? (maybe a 32?) control, and had no problem going to the newer 32, Nexus, Smart, controls for both lathe and mill.

One week of training got me through the basics and I would have occasional questions. If you have any serious time on these machines, the new controls are a breeze to use. There are minor things that can give you hicups, but it should be an easy transition.
