So had a problem last night with our ancient ST40.
When it powers up it comes up with multiple alarms.
T32-2 control.

202 HYDRAULIC PRESSURE DOWN (RED)
203 AIR PRESSURE DOWN (RED)
303 START COND. ERR,(EXT FEED HOLD) (BLUE)
121 OVERTRAVEL (RED)

On the control panel I have an NC alarm and MC Alarm
The MC alarm comes on first.

Inside the cabinet I have E7 Alarms

Of course there is a rush job on this machine and I can't contact Mazak till Monday.
Anyone give me an idea to where I should start looking?

Cheers

I'm not familiar with that machine or control but I would guess all of those alarms could be caused by an overtravel condition....did the x axis maybe drift down or is it possible any of them have tripped a limit switch? If not maybe a bad limit switch. That is where I would start looking till someone with more knowledge than me reply's.

Hi,
The overtravel is a strange one as the machine was parked in it's usual place.
The hydraulics don't fire up in the alarm condition but I will try and manually turn the X Axis leadscrew see if I can get it to move.
I've a feeling all these alarms are caused by some other underlying fault.

Check the parameters and see if you have anything funny going on like a bunch of asterisks *** in there. The only time I ever see hydraulic pump not turn on is when the parameters get corrupted due to a low battery.

Parameters all seem fine.
Breakers that drive the hydraulics etc are not pulling in.
Just waiting for Mazak to call for when they can get an engineer out.
