I am milling some 440C SS round bar and I am having issues with the material tearing out. After cutting it I can grab the material and pull it right down the length of the part. I have never seen anything like this before.
It's a lap seam that got rolled-in due to improper processing. If you are getting it in multiple rods, they're scrap. Talk to your vendor, they should replace the material FOC.
