I have started my own shop. I have a big order for a bunch of 2 axis lathe work. Right now I only have one lathe a 93 Supermax TC-2. This one job alone will run for weeks. It's two ops. I have an opportunity to get a 2015 Mitsubishi LT350. I can get it delevered and installed fast with no headaches. My lathe has a 8" kitagawa, the mits has a 6" chuck. I'm curious if anyone has any opinions on the mits lathe?
I'm a mazak guy so I'm thinking I'll pick control up fast. It's not exactly what I want but it looks like a nice little machine. I am running on a phase converter and have limited amps so I can't get a 30hp machine. My thinking is this new machine will eventualluy replace the supermax and I could get something a little bigger down the road.

Used to buy from an area surplus dealer. When the thicknesses of the inserts started to vary, I stopped.

It sounds like a good opportunity.
I've got scant experience with Mitsu CNC's, but the controls have been decent.
Having two spindles on a job means getting it done faster plus more capability.
Go for it.

We will see how this week unfolds. I've been running this old lathe round the clock. It would be nice to be running op2 in another machine right now. I definitely need a better saw too.
