hello!
I want to buy a relatively small 5 axis milling machine that is capable of milling stainless steel and machine parts up to 200mm in length. I came across pocket NC but its work envelope is small (75mm cube). Can anyone help me? thanks in advance.
A dealer here in KC had a Mori MT2 or 3000, cant remember which. Full magazine of HSK holders. No subspindle or lower turret. $50k. I think it was about a 2007ish maybe?
200mm is not "small" for five axis, it's more average sized. Probably the cheapest practical entry would be a Haas VF series with a trunnion, probably $150k to $170k new depending on options. You can probably get down in the $30k range if you buy a 20-30 year old clapped out machine.
