Does anyone here have any experience networking a mix of RS232C and Ethernet equipped machines (Haas Mills, Mitsubishi EDM's and a Makino V22 mill 8 machines total). I'm wishing for a one stop solution but how close to that can I really get. Pointers about what doesn't work are appreciated and directions to what you have found to work well would be great. Also is there anyone offering a service to provide and install a system. We don't really want do this ourselves if we can avoid it.

TIA

Put a serial server on all the RS232 machines, now you're dealing with ethernet across the board for all machines. Moxa (Serial Device Servers - Industrial Edge Connectivity | Moxa) has plenty of offerings.

This right here. We didn't have the RS232/Ethernet mix but we had over 100 RS232 machines that we switched all of them to the serial servers. All machines were then hooked up to it's very own dedicated drive and best of all, they were all now wifi, no overhead cables anymore.
