I just bought a Rhino ST/8 CNC lathe, late 1980's vintage, anything I should do or check before I try and fire this thing up?
All I've done so far is make a copy of what I hope is the boot disk (3.5 floppy) and checked the battery in the control which of coarse is dead, any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Is it 3 phase? Do you have a way to check polarity?

Make sure it's properly grounded. If it has hydraulics, make sure there's fluid in the tank.

Then cross your fingers and fire it up.

Where was your battery located on it? I just got one and when I fire it up, it says CMOS Battery needs replaced. Thanks
