I have a Mori and an Okuma-Howa with 3T Fanucs. The Okuma comes up with one button, the Mori requires a second button is pushed. The mori brings up hydraulics and everything looks normal, but nothing will move until you hit the second button.

Sometimes a machine arriving DOA is as simple as a board or cable connection that rattled lose in transit. Get some electronics cleaner and clean and reseat boards and connectors.

I have a Fanuc 3T on a Yam CK1. If I recall correctly, there is a parameter that controls the button sequence that is required to run code in MDI. One parameter setting requires that you push the START button on the keypad BEFORE you hit the RUN/Execute button on the main switch panel or nothing will happen. The other parameter setting lets you skip hitting START on the keypad and go directly to the RUN/Execute button on the main panel.

Did you use EOB's and the insert key to enter the code?

Does the 3T do more than one input at a time? The 0T you input each word and then execute one line at a time maximum so you don't use EOB.

Has the turret been homed? If not, index turret in home mode until tool 1 is in cutting position.

We have two Mori lathes with 3T controls and when that error light is on it indicates the lube pump is low on oil. You can run them in manual mode, home them, index the turret but they won't run in Auto or MDI until you refill the lube pump.
Hope that is your issue as well. Other thing that will keep them from running in auto, but no error light is the tailstock interlock. If its in the on position, and the tailstock is not extended, it won't start the program. Good luck! As VanC suggested- get a manual.

Congratulations! Hope everyone is doing well. The guy in 26 joined up just to post about homing the turret. Sounds like that could probably be it? I run one of these 30 years ago but I don't remember any quirks about it.

This is the answer. After doing this everything works like it should. Thanks a bunch Pogue, as well as everyone else who chimed in.

I feel stupid for not being able to figure it out on my own but I think I was letting frustration get in the way. I probably would have eventually figured it out, but time is money. When i got this machine home, i was 0 for 2 on DOA machines.

Thanks again everyone and the baby and mama are doing great.
