Default New to Us Machine Day - Romi C420

I don't have it yet but we just purchased this Romi off of Resell cnc.
We used to have a Haas tl lathe and we also used to have a Mazak M-5 so I hope this little guy falls some where in between as far a build quality goes.

I'll post pics when it comes in, I know some folks around here are familiar with these so I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions. My hope is for it to be the "free spindle" in the shop for quick little rush jobs, thread shafts and rough out parts. I plan to stick a manual 4 jaw on it and track down a steady rest.

Does it have a turret or a toolpost?

Hope you like the Siemens control better than I do.......

No on both fronts, I'll likely put an aloris QCTP on it as I don't plan on doing anything too aggressive or too precise with it. I started with Haas and moved to mazak so I have no idea about the control but and actually kinda excited to play with something new. It was a small investment so it won't have to do much to impress me I hope it will be helpful to have around.

Brasil I think. From what I've heard they are a good value for what you pay.

    Yeah, Brazil.
My chum bought a large Romi 15 (?) years ago.
IDK if they make the big ones anymore?

Anyhow - his manual and ladder is in Portuguese, so good luck with that!
