I have a Haas CNC lathe
I am learning about VPS.
I want to create a Tapered Thread (picture 2.)
2.
VPS has 1 value described in the picture 1. It is used to compute -> I in G76. I don't know what value to enter.
Help me! Thank you very much!
The "I" value is for taper in the Thread. If you want a taper like a pipe thread the value goes here. If you want a straight thread leave zero and only change if you are seeing a diameter variance on your Pitch Diameter. The taper is Thou/Inch like the description shows at the bottom of the screen.
The value are looking at is the diameter taper per 12 inches. Or the amount the thread diameter would change over 304.8mm. I hope that makes sense when google translates it.
Tapered thread is translated as cone lace in your original post, I don't know how it will translate back.
oh! i use GG translate. That's Tapered thread !
If I want to make thread on this taper (pictured).
What value should I enter into that VPS value? View attachment 307236
Language is one of my problems with studying. I will have to try harder.
Please help me! Thanks so much!
It looks like you would need to put 4 inches as your taper. According to your screen picture the most the Haas control will allow is 3.5 inches. You will either need to find a different way to program that part or find a different sample to make.
