Have a Fanuc 21iT that has the system files corrupted.
Control stuck in "program" screen.
Received system files from Harrison (the builder) including a .LAD file (ladder?)
Cleared the system by power up with "Reset" and "Delete" ...
Cleared the ladder (can no longer view the ladder from the system screen, PMC,PMCLAD)

I can load the file supplied from Harrison (SO35-07 .LAD) via compact memory card.
But it never appears in the PMCLAD.

There is an error on the PMC page :
"PMC Alarm Message: ER 17 Program Parity"

Anyone have any idea what this is and is it causing me trouble reloading my system files?

Thanks in advance.
Ross

Pretty sure it means the LAD file is bad on the card.

My PMC-N manual only says "ER17 Ladder Illegal (Ladder is wrong)". While this manual is older than the PMC system used on the 21i series controls, Fanuc usually does a good job keeping things like error messages consistent.

Would i expect the error to disappear if i clear the ladder?
The file seems to load fine from the boot screen, but it never shows on teh control.
Thanks for the response..
Cheers Ross

I think the parity error should clear, but you might have another error about there being no ladder. I have overwritten a ladder from a flash card, but never started with a cleared ladder.

I would not expect the ladder to show if, after loading, there is a ladder parity error generated.
