Problem with Fanuc Series O-M

This is the first time I post to this forum.

I installed a old CNC machine with a controller Fanuc Series O-M.
When I turned on the machine, the screen display: 0469 - 10, Servo 9046 - 09, PMC A1 - 01.
I checked Air Pressure (90 psi), Voltage (230V) and Oil level.

I can move the table on X, Y and the spindle on Z.

But, the spindle does not want to do nothing and the screen display
an Alarm Message: 1015 pot inp alarm

I have found the manual for that machine. There is no information about this error

I have to say that machine had been 3 years without working.

Thanks to anyone who has a hint

0469 - 10 This is your system firmware version.

Servo 9046 - 09 This is your servo firmware version.

PMC A1 - 01 This is your PMC (PLC in Fanuc speak) type.

This information is normal and part of the boot sequence.

Alarms in the 1000 range are determined by the machine builder, not Fanuc. You will need to refer to documentation from the machine builder to understand what this alarm code means.

It would be a great idea to include the rest of the information about the machine. What brand and model for a start? Did the machine run at its previous location or was it broken at that time? The forum does not charge by the word so don't be shy about filling in all the blanks!

Thanks for your answer

The machine is a Milling Yeong Chin Machinery, Type: MAX-3HP

Thanks also to Garwood. The problem was with a tool holder not at the right position. The error disappeared. Now, I have to check all the switch from the tool charger to make sure everything is OK.

Now, I have these errores
408 : Servo Alarm (Serial Not Ready)
414 : Servo Alarm X Axis Detect Err
424 : Servo Alarm Y Axis Detect Err
434 : Servo Alarm Z Axis Detect Err

The power Supply (A60B-6087-H115) display the error #1: Overcurrent flowed into the input of main circuit

The main voltage is between 234 and 236 volts. It seems to be to high.
Next step: I will connect t0 208 volts

The transformer on the machine is a 35kwA 600 volts IN / 240 volts OUT. The voltage between each phase was 234, 234, 236 volts

I replaced the transformer with a 600 volts IN / 208 volts OUT.

This is solved the problems with the alamrs 408, 414, 424 and 434.

About the error 1015 pot inp alarm

I took off the Micro Switch mounted beside the cylinder inside the tool changer.

The 2 micro switch was a defective. I will replace them by next week.

I will give you news when it will be replaced.

Thanks for your help

Hi to anyone.

I replaced the micro switch and checked the proximity switch located in the tools changer.
The micro switch are used to start and stop the cylinder and the proximity swith is used for the
motor to turn the caroussel.
Now, the tools changer can turn but the indicator always display tool: 00 next: 00

I still get a message when I start the controller: 1015 pot inp alarm

The milling can be "homed" correctly. I tried to start the spindle with a litle MDI program
and I received one more alarm: 1002 Zero point missed.
The spindle amplifier indicates: Ready 00

I checked around the machine to find any other switch or contact. Nothing so far

I am opended to any ideas from anyone to find a solution to get this machine working

Thanks for your help

The 1000 series alarms are machine builder defined so you will need to refer to documentation from the builder to understand the full meaning.

I suspect that your Diagnostic parameters are not set based on no count showing on the display. The Diagnostic parameters are determined by the machine builder so you will need to refer to their documentation to determine what they should be set to. Look fir information labeled counters, timers, data, and keeprelay.

You are right Vancbiker

The problem was from a proximity switch inside the Tool Changer.
This switch indicates the end of rotation and it was not correctly set.
So, the proximity switch was closed (24V on the pin) and the controller
gave an error.

I wrote a message to Patrick Grantz @ ycmcnc.com and he sent
all the manual (mecanical, electrical y software) for that machine.
Thanks to ycmcnc.com for the support.

With the LADDER code in the manual, I found the problem quickly.

Now, the milling is running

Thanks to the forum for the help yo resolve the problem
