I'm looking at buying a early 2000s Bridgeport EZ Path SD toolroom CNC lathe and would like to hear from anyone who has run such a machine. We are basically looking at getting it for one-off and small run parts (10 to 50 pcs).

From what I understand, this model does have CSS and an auto two-speed gearbox, but the tailstock is not adjustable like the earlier models.

Anyway, I'd like to know how useful the conversation programming is, what G codes it accepts and if it accepts the FANUC standard canned cycles.

The lathe has an Aloris QC toolpost. I'd also like to know if it is possible to fit it with a small turret (Dorian, Pragati, etc.) or maybe a pneumatic collet closer in the future (how accessible are the paramaters for making the changes and how well documented are the manuals).

Thanks,
Jim
