Single form thread mills with radius?

Hi all,

Curious what people are using for single form thread mills. It "seems" that many manufacturers either grind them to a sharp point, or grind a flat on the tips. Neither seem to last long, and I have generally resorted to going under a microscope and carefully stoning a radius or radii on each variety.

Any leads on who might be manufacturing/selling single form thread mills with a full radius ground on the tips?

AFAIK, they don't exist for some reason. Looked high and low last year for a single profile tm for a "J" thread. Mullti profile was no problem, get those anywhere. Single profile? Don't exist

We use these in the uk. German company.

1.4-2.5mm pitch tip has a rad of 0.4mm
2.5-5.5mm pitch tip has 0.8mm rad on

Run fine on duplexs and inconels.

If you're willing to provide a drawing, or at least a good description of what you want, MITGI will make it, coat it, and ship it about as fast or faster than any of the big guys, for the same price or less.

Darn, I scoured the Harvey catalog before since I buy from them now and then, but never saw those!

Great info from all of you, thanks guys!
