Hi all ,

pretty new to the world of home build machines etc
i brought a CNC router about 12 months ago and all has been going great until the machine was moved !!

the problem seems to be on the y axis controlling the height of the spindle attachment. The stepper motor intermittently works and then seems to seize up and stick . i have uploaded a small clip of the issue to vimeo - link below .

ive have checked all wiring back to the motor and re-stripped and done the connections and cant see any problems .

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

This pretty much isn't the place for home built machines. Try CNC Zone.

You might try Mach and linuxcnc. Both are stepper capable but linuxcnc also will drive servos. HTH
