Crosspost from general - no takers there.

Never touched this particular material before so looking for some experiences.

Small turned parts ~3/4 to 7/8" diameter and similar length, tolerances in the +/- .002" range. Some thin walls at .0325" thick.

What to expect? How to price, relative to Inco etc?

No experience with that particular alloy, but I did do a good amount of Haynes 282 at an old job. From looking at the spec sheet I can see it's a similar animal, lots of nickel, cobalt, and chromium. So it's probably not gonna be a fun time. If you're done nickel based superalloys before you know what to expect, slower speeds and poor tool life.

I found the cobalt heavy alloys to make Inco look like a walk in the park by comparison, but we were always starting from raw forgings that really chew thru inserts. Quoting wise, I'm not sure, maybe add 20 or 30% over what you'd charge if it was Inconel? Hard to say until you've done a batch. I would also expect it to move around with those thin walls.
