What is a Fadal EMC?

I picked one of these up recently. I get all the specs and what have yous when I google it, but I don't get the feeling they were as popular as the older Fadals. Looking at the parts lists online for the EMC a lot of the parts seem to fit the 3016 as well.

Is "EMC" just a 3016 with a new name?

Any idea on realistic value for a clean 2006 machine? No 4th, minimal tooling, 7500 RPM Cat40.

These must not have been very popular. Seems like they are regarded as a decent tiny VMC and a big step up from a Haas mini from what little I can find about them.

It could be Garwood, Fadal went through several bouts of change before they closed up. Perhaps it was part of a new marketing idea that didnt make it. I seem to remember hearing about it but dont know that I can tell you anything about it.

I doubt "rare" makes it valuable in this situation. I might just put it to work if it isn't worth much and fits in a broom closet.
