Default Yaskawa spindle encoder repair suggestions

    Hello forum
    Back to square one.

MY Kitamura has a bad encoder we think,I had Yaskawa service tech in he cleaned the old one reinstalled it and it ran fine
    for maybe 20 hrs ..

Now the spindle turns maybe 30 rpms before alarming out just like before the service tech was here.

also.. the load meter reads 150% but I can turn the spindle freely by hand.

Any one here have this happen possibly suggest a rebuilder..or do I just bite it and order one from Yaskawa.

On top of this my other Kitamura has a drive out being evaluated .I kinda have the perfect storm going on

    Thanks for any suggestions

I just had this happen on my (Bridgeport) VMC with a Yaskawa motor and drive. Experienced same low RPM symptoms as you indicated. If your drive has an interface on it there is a method to change the drive parameters and jog it from the drive to rule out anything on the command/machine control side. I have a procedure specific to my drive. If it would happen to be the same, you are welcome to a copy. I think they used the same drives on Kits. I might know where a northwest Ohio parts machine is. If you wanted to try used reply with the motor tag info.

I opted for and would recommend a full rebuilt motor with new bearings and cleaned and sealed and megged windings, bench tested and warrantied. Approx. $3K plus freight.

    Model: CIMR-VMC25P5-XXXA

I contacted the Yaskawa tech who worked on this last week ,he is somewhat close to my area
    this coming week.

So now that I have been somewhat educated he will now Meg the motor and put a Oscilloscope to check the encoder signal.

He also has a new encoder being shipped in ....smh
    Thanks everyone for the reply's
