    Default Deckel Arbor Bolt Threads???

I have a 1" shell mill arbor, and the factory bolt does not fit with the new face mill I got for Christmas. No problem I thought, I'l just whip up a new one. No so fast. I can't figure out what the threads are. I assume they are metric, but they don't match any standard I can find. They are just under 1/2" diameter, and the pitch is about 12 tpi. If they are metric, that would make it a 12.5 x 2.1mm or so. Doesn't match anything I can find.

    Can anyone clue me in?

I guess it could be 1/2" by 12 tpi UNS, but the 12 tpi doesn't seem to be a perfect match although it is very very close. The measure OD of the threads is 0.492".

Another thread on the same thing. I guess it is 1/2-12tpi.

    some geografy/history
    Deckel is German
    German is in Europe
In Europe we had 2 standard threading systems
    Metric and Whitworth
Believe me , a lot of europeans have never heard of UNC or UNCF threads
    Your thread is a BSW 1/2-12tpi 55dgr
That was a commen thread in europe

However it is od to find that threadson a original Deckel arbor
(If it is original Deckel )

Yep, that was it. Thank you for your help.

I do believe it is original Deckel. It is marked "Made in Germany", but does not have the FD symbol. However, some of the new old stock arbors I bought came in Deckel packaging and are marked the exact same way.
