Hello
the deckel s1 at the dividing head is fitted with a arm that has a hardened blade. It is used as shown.
In any manual I have, but its function is not explained exactly, arm included in standard accessories
my point is that it is straightening flat strings to pulley
does anyone have any idea please ?

The arm shown in your photos is not part of the standard accessories. It is the catch of the Supplementary Indexing Device, which consisted of the catch and a pair of change gears with 44 and 70 teeth. Please see the attached:

Do you have the change gears?

Hi
thank you very much for answering and moving in search :)
I have an original case for the Deckel S1 and there is a complete accessory. In the basic accessories it was probably also because it is on the original assembly from Deckel.
I also have 70/44 wheels that have a different gear module and the gear is angled to maintain the axial distance
thank you again for your help, unfortunately I do not have a manual with this procedure

Wow!

Yeah, Wow! indeed!

I cannot imagine how few of those sets managed to stay together over the years. Once separated from their boxes, they become just another random bit of valueless scrap, to anyone that does not recognize them for exactly what they are!

I gradually made a few interesting improvements to the Deckel S1 grinders, a short cast iron rotary bracket, a dividing ring with 360 teeth for the divider arm and a tool rotary vise:) IMG_20200322_131237.jpgIMG_20200322_131200.jpgIMG_20200326_082948.jpgIMG_20210519_180409.jpgIMG_20210519_180101.jpg

..... well and the flanges on the grinding wheels are never enough. Many, many, many steel flanges, external grinding, blackened by hot Brunigal :willy_nilly:
I installed for myself about 60 pieces of ceramic discs for various uses, mostly recess and radius, CBN and diamond are separate :)IMG_20210219_210842.jpgIMG_20210225_150431.jpgIMG_20210312_124225.jpgIMG_20210225_164854.jpg

Have you done flute grinding with that Deckel S1?
yes, sometimes I sand with a drive and discs for larger diameters, but I also have sanders with a Chevalier pneumatic quill, where the work is a little faster
I don't sharpen the 2 flute cutters on the perimeter, they just get shorter ;)
