Hey y'all,

I just tripped on this FP-1 auction. The machine looks a little beat up, but what caught my attention is the title "DECKEL FP-1 UNIVERSAL MILL S/N 30947 W/ 190-1900 VERTICAL RPM, R8 SPINDLE, 120-1200 HORIZONTAL".
As far as I know these only ever came with MT4 or SK40 tapers?

From the photos, the horizontal spindle looks like a completely standard MT4 spindle. The vertical spindle has a lot of stuff at the bottom, and also a strange-looking "ring" near the top. Perhaps it has an MT4->R8 adaptor in the spindle, and a modified drawbar?

See this thread for information about such adapters: Yet another R8 adapter for MT4 FP1's

There was a member here years back that made the "Deckeldapter" Which converted the Morse #4 taper to an R-8 ...sold a number of them as i recall.
Agree with Bruce, horizontal looks stock #4 Morse.
Cheers Ross

That was me. I haven't made any in a while. I have'nt been on this forum for a while either, as my hobby interests have drifted here and there. I still have my FP1, of course, and I often use my DeckelDapter!
