Good day guys.

This is probably another one of those topics that has been discussed at length! I have the opportunity to acquire a Deckel FP3NC, the one on the photo. The owner did say that it has an error, which I'm not sure of what exactly it is. I need help identifying the control on the machine and the difficulty fault finding and repairing.

The machine is also quite a distance away, so viewing it is also troublesome.

All comments welcome, positive and negative.

Looks to be an FP3NC...circa 1986-88 or so....
Looks to me to have been retrofitted with a Heidenhain control....Not conversant with that model control. Uses a CRT i believe not the later LCD display. My guess it that its a TNC 310 or 320...
But that is just a guess....
Might contact local service folks and see if any support for that vintage HH control is available...
Might be someone (professional) that has serviced that machine in the past ...would be worth a few calls to fill in the history.
Basic iron is robust, and well designed...
Can have issues with the vertical ways (inside face away from the operators station) depending on how the machine was used.(peck drilling)
These early versions can have wear and galling on that surface...must run the table full up and look from below to see any evidence of this problem....
Can be repaired, but requires some serious disassembly and skill at machine rebuilding.....
Have seen machines with this issue that have continues in service ,making good parts for years....

Cheers Ross

Looks more like a TNC 410 control to me, hard to tell from the photo. If that's a retrofit vs factory installation, it looks well executed.
Controls from that era can often be repaired by a knowledgeable tech, but certain electronic parts can be problematic or expensive to obtain.

Machine looks like its been used a bit, but reasonably clean and cared for based on the condition of the paint.
Can't really evaluate condition based on that, but it's a start and IMHO means it's worth further examination.

Looks like a Dialog3/4 machine with TNC 355 refit. Might also be an early Deckel that was fitted with Heidenhain control from the factory, since Deckel later used TNC355 on Dialog 11 machines.

Thanks for the inputs thus far!!

For more clarity, I managed to get these pictures of the machine that might help identifying the controls etc.

Think mahodude is correct and that's likely a 355 control. Rather outdated performance by today's standards (slow processor, limited memory, not sure if you can drip feed), but could still be a viable control depending on your intended use. Can still be repaired (usually on an exchange basis) by specialists in Germany like Franz Singer, but it won't be cheap.

Noticed in the photo the machine has Heidenhain HR330 remote handwheel, which has good ergonomics and can be very useful.
