    Default Japanese 'clone' Aciera F3

    Hello

Incase everyone here know about this machine?
I have opportunity to purchase both Aciera F3 and this Ogi oum-80 which is really in nice condition compare to beautiful aciera F3 that has been abused before.

Like other euro style that 'clone' Deckel FP1.
They clone deckel when they think that patent is not working during WWII war.

So what about this Ogi OUM-80 that 'clone' Aciera F3, this was made in 1971 which Aciera still in business, Do they has license from Aciera ?

I believe the quality is good since it came from 'Daini seikosha' factory that made Seiko watch or other, have no idea.

Where did you get this idea? Germany and Japan had a technology sharing pact before and during WW II and the first Deckel mills came over on a U-Boat, from Japanese pages I have read. The Riken mills which cloned the Deckel FP1 and FP2 mills were made under license, and were later modified over time by the company. By the mid-1980s they remained completely manual machines, still recognizable as Deckel clones.

I don't know how the Japanese manufacture of the Abene mill came about, or if there was a licensing agreement of some sort. I'll see what I can find out.
