Nice to see that this site is still alive.
I am offered a Deckel FP5 NC with Dialog4 of 1986.
The monitor doesn't start up I heard but the drives
seem to start up. Could be a monitor problem, I haven't
seen it jet but it could also be something much worse.
The machine is very dirty but it could be that it's not used
too much.
I heard a weaker point of the FP5 is it's main spindle and drive
I understand the FP5 has a Kessler main motor and BBC
servo drive. It seems that if one of these has a problem the
costst are very high.
Does anybody know if these parts can be repaired at repair companies
or has a name of a company that has experience with this? We are in
the Netherlands.
DMG advised me already not to buy this machine if there is a problem
with the main spindle.
