S20x2 to M16 pull stud in drawbar, not in each holder

Hi Guys!

Just a quick question:
I have a 1967 Deckel Fp2.
For this machine I would like to use Sk40 tool holders. I know there's a stud for this. S20x2:M16 which seems to be commonly used.
But why is everyone buying loads of these studs for each holder? Can't you just use 1 stud in your drawbar, perhaps use some 638 locktite to keep it in place?

Thanks a lot in advance!
Best regards from Holland.

They do make (or you can machine) M16 drawbars.

I suppose putting an adapter in the drawbar is possible-- you would have to insure that the adapter did not bottom out on the toolholder (back end) before the toolholder actually tightened into the taper.

The adapters are designed to be tightened until they bottom out on the tool holder-- which locks the threads a bit. In your scenario you are not tightening against a shoulder- the threads are just held into the drawbar via locktite.

Then you have to go full for that pull system No longer possible to use the S20x2 tooling you would have Like collets boring heads and such The last gen does have Din2080 btw
