If one would fit in my luggage that would be tempting indeed. I took the pan off the FP2A last week to take it to a sheetmetal shop for them to duplicate it. But it was heavier than I expected and probably wouldn't fit in my little sports car, so I put it back, until I drive the truck to the shop again. Also I had forgot there is a bent pipe on the bottom for coolant drain, but I suppose that will be easy enough for the sheetmetal guys. But those complex bends I'm not so sure about.

    Arrow Wanted-Deckel lamp.

Prefer Waldman halogen type but would consider flourscent type if the connector is later direct to Y axis matching connector type.

    I rolled my own.
Bought a Waldmann lamp, new off e-bay. Need 24v model.
Got the connector directly from FPS in Germany. Milled up a little base to accept the original mounting bolt that fit up to the lamp base.
Original Deckel work lamp is a joke. Can't see any real value unless you were working in a cave...that florescent thing is hard to tell even when its on...
    Cheers Ross

I have a proper size Waldmann already (came on a Swiss lathe long ago sold) but the mount is way different from the Deckel. The FP2A still has the long vertical post mounted on the top of ram, but needs a mount adapter and electrical connector. Do you remember what that connector cost ?

The Waldman I have has a 110 to 24 volt "brick" in the wire assembly now...so the Deckel already has 24 volts at that connector and I can eliminate the brick for this purpose ?

Of course this Waldman is all silver and doesn't have the proper "Deckel" logo on the light body but I guess it will do

What is the stock Waldman connector on an FP2NC flip-head supposed to be like? Is a plastic connector stock? My machine has a plastic connector on the lamp cord and plastic receptacle on the back of the ram. The latter is cracked, probably due to bending load on the relatively long connector hanging our there in space. If I ever get motivated to fix it, I'll just pick up a surplus metal military-style connector at Halted. That's what I did for the lamp on my Aciera F4.

By the way, I had to replace the wiring running up the lamp arm and into the lamp housing. Between heat and some chemical, the copper was eaten away until one of the wires broke off the spade connector. I don't know whether the chemical was leaked coolant, leftover flux, or perhaps the product of plastic decomposition with hear. I know that PVC decomposes into some nasty stuff.

    Rich:
My receptacle is plastic on the body as well....4 bolt flanged mount.
Bayonet pins on the receptacle are fitted on a metal band molded into the plastic body.
My plug is metal with insulating guts. Has a plastic compression nut where the cord exits. seems to be made with lots of compliance between the coupling nut and the body...it is pretty long as well, about 3" or so.

D: Been too long since i bought it can't say what it cost...bet it was expensive though.
As to mounting the lamp...i just pulled the thread out of the vertical ram. Mace a little spacer block from aluminum , counter bored in the center to accept a bolt that fit the thread. Then i drilled and tapped holes at each corner of the block that matched the 4 holes on the lamp base flange....Bolt the riser to the head, bolt the lamp to the riser.
    Cheers Ross

    To R Klopp,

the connectors are Burndy connectors (US) but apparently now sold under the Sourinau label.
    They are standard items:
    Connectors from Allied Electronics

Smile Wanted: FP1 gearbox for spiral Milling Attachment

    Hello the Forum,

When I purchased a Spiral Milling Attachment, it came with an FP2 Gearbox. I have an FP1 milling machine. I need an FP1 gearbox.

I am interested to find someone in the reverse situation.

I am willing to trade my FP2 Spiral Milling FP2 Gearbox for a FP1 gearbox. Decent condition, not new at all. Photos available to interested party.

Need a plug for a universal table to connect it to my FP4NC. The cord was cut off and discarded at some point while being stored. Is there one out there, or is there another connector that will work?

Looking for Aciera, Schaublin, Hermle, Deckel, or Maho mill. CNC or manual. Aciera would have to be at least F3 in size, Schaublin would be 22 or 13. Deckel Fp1 to Fp3, Maho MH300 to MH500.

Sort of considering two mills. One would be CNC, one manual. Broken or project machines will be considered. The main constraint is that it is a garage machine, so looking for machines less than 6' 6" tall.

Default looking for a fp1 table in good shape

Does anyone have a FP1 table for sale ? I'd consider a fixed or universal style. I just picked up an FP1 and previous owner overtightened the t nut holding the vise and broke a chunk out! Ouch thanks , Barry [email protected] cell 518 496-0123

    Blade:
Cheaper alternative is to make yourself a sub plate. Easy solution is to buy some tooling plate, and drill and tap a grid of holes in the surface...bolt it down to the table top and you are good to go.

    Smile Fp1 Table

You could make a offer on the overpriced universal on EBay,if you bank account can stomach it. It might even be cheaper to deal with German EBay (shipping isn't all that bad) .

Searched the Sourinau catalogue, size 8 and 12 are 3 pin, doesn't appear to match this..

    OD is 24.4mm, any suggestions?

Hmm, isn't that the large table (for the long reach head)?
My FP2 was born with that table along with the long reach head.

AFAIR, the standard fixed table for an FP2 is the one that
can be turned around to adjust the distance to the column.

    Cheers
    Erik
