I am going to say thank you in advance for any advice that anyone would be willing to share. I have 3 older Mori machines that I need to make program backups for, but am failing miserably at.

The first is an RL-235 with an MSG-803 control, built in 1998.

The second is an SL-200 with an MSC-500 (Fanuc 21i-TA series) control, built in 1998.

The last is a CL-253A (twin turret) with an MSG-803 control, built in 2002.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have an SRAM card and some PC cards with PCMCIA adapters. When I try to punch programs to the SRAM or PC cards (I've tried both), I just get a card read error.

Thanks again in advance.

Hubie,

We have had luck by turning the Rotary switch near the 7 segment display on NC Unit to "1" when trying to backup parameters and Programs. Puts the NC Unit into a maintenance mode I think. "7" on rotary switch will Format/Erase your NC Unit so be careful there. This info is for the MSG-803 Control only, I cannot speak for the MSC-500 control. I've attached the procedure we use for backup.

(Power needs to be off to NC Unit before changing Rotary Switch.)
