Hello,
I bought a used CNC MAHO MH500C. The sound from the gearbox was very loud, so I decided to change all the gearbox bearings. One of them was broken and the others noisy. I had a partial success. I managed to disassemble all the shafts expect from the front to the vertical spindle. It has at the end a component that it is shown in the photo
maho_gearbox.jpg.
It is like a shaft-hub connection but I can't remove it from the shaft and I am afraid of breaking it.
Can anyone give me a tip for removing it?

Hello George,

I have the same problem, Als Maho MH500C and the gearsbox sounds like its grinding teeth.
Do you have any advise before i start the overhaul?
Did you manage to remove the component?

A real help would be to have some photo's of what to expect and/or bearing numbers.

I removed the motor and opened up the gearbox. Everything felt good and there were minimal wear particles in the oil. This operation took 2-3 hours as the motor is very heavy (51Kg) and the attached cables require a sort of construction to let it rest on.

Replaced the oil by a SAE90 Gearbox oil for oldtimers, this eliminated the grindingteeth noise and solved my problem :)
