DYI Power Discharge Cables (specifically Fanuc)

Hello All,

I have a 1996 Fanuc a0B. I would like to make new power discharge cables for it. Has anyone done this? Does anyone know what type of wire I should be looking for? To clarify, would any
coaxial cable work? Is there any caveat here that I should be aware of?

Brassman,

Making your own power cables is perhaps the very first no-no in EDM. Please do not attempt this.

All EDM power cables are designed specifically for each machine based upon generator power, cable length and electrical impedance and are beyond a layman's ability to reliably make or repair them.

Any modification of any kind to a main power or ground cable can change all known cutting characteristics and machine performance (along with any aerospace or medical certifications you may have).

I'm afraid you must bite-the-bullet and buy from OEM or reliable supplier for this one.
