Mitsubishi FX-10 hard stop alarms M07_will not reset

Hello,

We have a Mitsubishi Fx-10, bought in 1997.
It has been refurbished 3 times over the years.
We were in the process of buying a Mitsubishi Wire Edm MV2400 with all the bells and whistles,
but our program manager cancelled our order, saying the FX-10 works just fine.
It does work but is prone to break downs at least 2-3 times a year.
Seems the FX-10 breaks down only when the workload increases.
We have in queue several wire edm projects, perfect timing.

I'm a cnc programmer, before I worked on the floor,
and ran the FX-10 for over 10 years.

Now that said...

We did an origin return XYZ,
we had an alarm M07.

We hit the reset button several times.

Usually we back off on the each axis to clear the alarm in manuel/jog mode.
None of the axis is moving in manuel/jog mode, M07 alarm is not clearing.

I turned the machine off,
turned the machine breaker off
and turned the overhead main breaker off.

After 15 seconds,
Turned on the main breaker.
Turned on the machine breaker.
turned on the machine,
and press ready all good so far.

Still have the M07 alarm,
Hit reset button several times still nothing.

XYZ axis will not move.

Any suggestion, before calling Mitsubishi to come over and fix it.

R Mak,
If calling them is an option, I would do it. I had the same problem just last week and Mitsubishi found that at some point a rat had made my machine their play ground and chewed some wires and they finally broke. After fixing that I was able to share the other issues I was having and took care of those as well. Now I am able to leave it unattended to get work load done. WORTH IT!!
Look on the alarms screen and give the full alarm code. There should be an axis after the numbers. That's where the problem lies.
I PM you as well.
Good luck,

M07 is a soft limit. Im assuming when you did the zero or return one of your axis missed the home limit and hit the soft limit switch. Maybe a sticky limit switch. If you can't jog then manually move the machine away from the limits.
Pull the way covers back, should be a simple fix.

Sticky limit switch on one or more of the axii. Pull back the way covers and manually move away from the limit switch. If you have a soft over-ride switch, then jog away from the home positions. I suspect this is happening more on just ONE of the axis switches.

We have a y-axis limit switch that sticks a lot on one machine. Of course it is the most difficult to replace.
